Find your voice, holding space, white girl complex, race and identity with guest Kiran McKay

This week on Unpacked are chatting with guest Kiran Mckay, Podcast Host of the Middle Fingers Up Podcast. Middle Fingers Up is a show where they keep our heads high and their middle fingers higher. The Middle Fingers Up Podcast explores relationships, mental health and everything in between. We chat with Kiran about growing up with immigrant parents and as a visible minority as a South Asian woman. She shares how she worked through her white girl complex and how racism at a Calgary bar caused her to lose her voice and then inspired her to start a podcast. Kiran has worked through a recent career transition that has allowed her to realign her values and she chats with us about the growth she has seen in that.

Unpacked is a podcast exploring life as messy people. It’s conversations with counsellors, leaders, and storytellers discussing the experiences of being human. We talk about the strength that comes from big messy failures and vulnerable moments so we can learn to live more authentically. Subscribe and leave us a review!
